Planting and Irrigation Services
PLANTINGYou or your designer have drawn up the planting scheme. Now you need to get the plants and have them planted!
We can help with obtaining the best plants using our connections and then put the much needed effort into planting them. Whether it's a long run of laurels, photinias or copper beech for a new hedge; or a detailed planting scheme that requires different plants to be set to the designers vision for next years blooms we've done it! Having carried out hundreds of planting operations we know what to do. If you have an idea for a planting scheme then whilst we don't pretend to be horticulturalists we do have access to a network of qualified personnel that we can call upon. They're able to advise on planting schemes, designs and plant suitability. Of course there are times when plants can be planted and other times where you won't give them the best start at all! Bare rooted plants should be planted typically between November and March. In November the ground is warmer but the plants won't suffer excessive heat or drought conditions. We won't normally plant bare rooted plants in the height of summer as they will need massive maintenance with watering and potential shade. However, we've planted container grown or root balled plants in the summer or when emergency work was needed after oil spillage and the insurers needed a quick response for their client. We've planted 3 metre high conifers grown in containers, hedgerows of photinia's (Red Robin), beech and laurel as well as beautiful planting schemes the horticulturist/garden designers have created. We can even attend after planting to water the new plants until they are established or to cover for you why you are away. |
IRRIGATIONIf you need irrigation installing we have experience of that too!
Working with one of the UK's top irrigation product specialists we can install irrigation for many purposes such as modern 'drip watering' for hanging baskets, borders or irrigation for newly planted hedgerows. If you have lots of hanging baskets and go away on holiday then installing a simple irrigation system will take away the fear of losing the plants AND asking the neighbour to water for you! Automating planter & hanging basket irrigation not only saves you hours of time, but makes your floral displays brighter and longer lasting. Hanging baskets dry out quickly and are difficult to reach, yet require watering 2 or 3 times a day if they are to look their best. Old fashioned drip watering systems use bulky supply pipes which look ugly. |
