It’s been a busy period for our team across Knowle and Dorridge. From midnight emergency call-outs to precision pruning on protected trees, we’ve been deployed across the borough to keep our roads safe and our local canopy healthy.
1. Emergency Call-Out: Lady Byron Lane, Knowle
​The Situation: During recent high winds, we received an urgent call regarding a large roadside tree on Lady Byron Lane. A heavy limb had failed, striking a passing bus and smashing several upper-deck windows.
Our Response: Given the risk to the busy 87/88 bus route, this was a high-priority emergency. Our team worked through the night using specialist lighting and a crane to safely dismantle the compromised sections. By dawn, the hazard was removed, and the transport link was fully restored without further incident.
Expert Tip: Storm damage often reveals hidden structural weaknesses. If you have large trees overhanging public highways, regular safety inspections are essential to prevent vehicle damage and liability.
